Meet Megan

Megan Walsh | BAHons(Psych), MPsych(Clin)

Hello!  I’m Megan

I’m a Clinical Psychologist and Animal Assisted Therapist.  I’ve been a therapist for over a decade and became a fully registered Psychologist in 2016; first working and training in schools, hospitals and community clinics before working in a thriving group practice for 5 years.  I opened Full Bloom in 2021.

I would describe myself as warm and approachable, and like to think I take a ‘relaxed yet professional’, client-centred approach.  I think one of my major strengths as a therapist is my ability to provide a genuinely non-judgemental and accepting space for all clients… and Valentina (the therapy dog) certainly makes no judgements (although just quietly, she may hold a slight positive bias toward people who put her blanket on ‘just right’).

I would say my other major strength is my genuine love of learning about all things psychology (though I certainly would not claim to know all things!).  I’ve studied and practiced a broad range of interventions and therapeutic modalities and I continue to deepen my understanding of people, the challenges they face and how to best support them, with every year I continue to work in the field.

I’m a lover of yoga, meditation and spending time in nature.

I enjoy taking Tina out for puppuccinos, cooking, listening to music, visiting art galleries, bushwalking, or even playing a few games on the Playstation or Switch.

“I am passionate about forming a genuine connection with my clients. Research has shown that the best predictor of positive outcomes in therapy is the quality of the therapeutic relationship.”
